Restaurant-quality cooking, one step at a time.
Chef Pepper writes you a real recipe — measured, timed, and built to be cooked from — then walks you through it step by step, so you are never scrolling back up with your hands covered in flour.
Four things, done properly.
Chef Pepper is not a chat window with a cookbook bolted on. Each part of it exists because something goes wrong in a real kitchen.
Ask Chef Pepper
Describe what you want to cook, what is actually in the fridge, or what your diet has to work around. You get a recipe written for that, not the nearest match.
Cook without scrolling
Measurements are repeated inside each step. The amount you need is on the line that tells you to use it, where your eyes already are.
Build your cookbook
Save what worked, rate it, write down what you would change next time, and file it into collections you can actually find again.
Guided Cooking Mode
One step on the screen at a time, with timers you set, the cue to look for, and somewhere to ask a question mid-cook without losing your place.
From a question to dinner.
Say what you want to cook, or what is in the fridge.
Everything you cook, saved in one place.
Steps that carry their own measurements.
One step at a time, with timers and cues.
Built around cooking, not just chat.
A recipe from Chef Pepper is a structured document, not a wall of text. Every recipe arrives carrying these, which is what lets the app do something with it:
- Ingredients
- Tools
- Preparation
- Cooking steps
- Timing
- Visual cues
- Temperatures
- Nutrition estimates
That structure is what makes Cooking Mode possible: a timer knows how long, a step knows what it should look like when it is ready, and a measurement appears where you need it.
Designed with lower-sodium cooking in mind.
Chef Pepper leans on the techniques that build flavour — browning, aromatics, herbs, spices, acid and reduction — rather than reaching for the salt.
Chef Pepper is a cooking app, not a medical device, and nothing it produces is dietary or medical advice. If you are cooking to a limit set by a doctor, check the recipe against it.
Your recipes, and nobody else's business.
Your conversations with Chef Pepper stay on your phone. Your recipes and cookbook are stored with your account so that a new phone does not lose them.
You can delete the account — really delete it — from inside the app, and the page below says exactly what goes and what does not.
About Simply In Depth
Simply In Depth builds focused software and interactive experiences designed around clarity, usefulness and depth. We would rather ship one thing that holds up than several that do not — which is why there is one product on this site and not a grid of them.
Chef Pepper is operated by Joshua Parsons under the Simply In Depth brand. Anything we release carries its own privacy policy and terms, written against what the software actually does.
Chef Pepper is coming to Google Play.
It is finished and in review. There is no mailing list to join and nothing to sign up for — when it is live, this is where the link will be.
